  As many other online reviews have said, this product is Way overpriced, and full of issues, just as their Android Power Player, very glitchy & sluggish playing videos, videos also constantly pauses and freezes, (I have used and tried many online video downloaders/Converters on my WINDOWS PRO 7 6GB RAM PC, do not have all these issues even with Free Programs tested. Not much noticeable difference in over hyped Video and Audio enhancement options, using my HD 4K android TV Box. Cyberlink Support is not very helpful, very slow responses, and give just very generic non-detailed answers on their paid software products. Options this product is Missing: ? **No Video in and fade out, feature mainly at end of video downloads, so do not have to use an addtl editor program,to edit and re-encode just to fade out video at end, instead of all videos ending abrubtly, which looks terrible. **(No great Video sound effect to max or boost video sound without clipping or distorting ? **( No good Options to *Auto correct of video resolution, lighting or sound problems **takes a longtime to load and read connected mp4 files, and skips over many videos, and cannot even read M3U files etc! Again, this could be a pretty good player, if they just fixed the far too many basic problems, and way over priced, do not believe the hype! ( Rated 2.5 out 5 stars)

• Tolerated for 5 months--Finally uninstalled

  Pros

  This came with my Win 8 laptop and in five months, I could not ever get it to work without something going wrong. To play a simple DVD requires 15 minutes of set up time and then restarting to overcome the glitches that occurred during the viewing. Found no pros. Nothing worked easily. Everything glitched. No help.

  Cons

  The autoplay didn't work. There was no help to resolve it. Everything I was told to do or it could do was not how it worked. The video-screens froze and glitched; blurring the picture and creating a patchwork look. The sound stuttered and froze, making listening to CD or DVD impossible to enjoy. It needed constant attention to restart it and troubleshoot it. I downloaded VLC and seconds later the movie started and the movie played perfectly. No glitches. No frozen screens. No problems.

  Summary

  I found the program impossible to use for CDs and DVDs. Wouldn't recommend it and uninstalled it today. I gave it every chance to work. It is a chore to use and when it runs, there are hiccups and problems throughout the viewing time.

  Superb user-interface that is bursting with choices yet easy and fun to navigate. Seamless integration with my Youtube and MoovieLive accounts, as well as Vimeo, Facebook, and the Cyberlink cloud.

  As a long-time fan of Cyberlink products, specifically PowerDirector for video editing, and Power2Go for disc burning, I finally took the plunge and downloaded a copy of their media playing juggernaut, PowerDVD. I went with the Ultra version to get all the features offered. I am coming from OEM version 10, now at version 15, PowerDVD is an extremely popular program and I'm sorry to have waited so long to revisit it because 15 is stellar. First off, the download was swift and without error, as was the install, just run the executable file, add the key code when asked, and now I'm astonished to see what I have been missing all these years. The nicely designed UI was easy to read using it's stock skin, yet bursting with choices. Assuming you are online, Cyberlink's PowerDVD15 offers up links, via it's Media Library, to the latest Movie Info, including currently in theaters, upcoming, DVD/Blu-ray releases, top-rated, most-collected, TV shows, even Celebrity links, all by using tiled images making for a very lively but easy-to-browse experience. The visuals really stand out here and make you want to keep clicking around to see what's next! All the time I am poking about the inviting interface, the program is scanning my drives for any and all media to add to the Library, because this juggernaut is also a photo viewer, music player, multi (and I do mean multi) format video player so all my entertainment choices are in one place. As a semi-professional video editor, I have several drives of video and audio from a myriad of sources, and I can't find anything that PowerDVD15 can't play. The list of features and functions is almost endless, custom skins (your own images), TrueTheater (Cyberlink's amazing audio-video enhancement technology), links to feeds from Vimeo, as well as to my Youtube and MoovieLive accounts, all executed beautifully using the tiles, but you can customize that, too, by resizing, displaying them as lists, and for some categories, calendar-style displays. And I haven't even played a DVD or Blu-ray yet! Getting finally to it's seemingly most heralded feature, disc play, I was thrilled to find it was easily the best disc player I ever used. There is a trainload of items you can tweak related to performance of audio and video that I cannot properly detail here, you just need to take this program for a test-drive to see for yourself that Cyberlink PowerDVD has become an entertainment superstar. Photo slide shows, music playlists, 3D, DLNA, Dolby, remote control via Wifi using your smart phone, a companion tablet app (Power Media Player) available for Apple and Android, as well as my favorite, Windows. From within PowerDVD15 you can share to Flickr and Facebook, email, print, and it even has links to edit apps, such as Paint, and Cyberlink PhotoDirector. There are also easy uploads to your own Cyberlink Cloud account to keep everything backed up and synced with your other devices. PowerDVD15 has truly added to my entertainment options in so many ways, it's simply put, an embarrassment of riches, all brought together in one place in a seamless, fun to use program. Cyberlink has hit a home-run, again.

  Running Blu Ray movies with PowerDVD it's the same adventure like using Alpha version of some unknown players. They are freeware Blu Ray players which work reliable ... and you save your money, your nerves and your time.

  Summary

  I wanted to build my own Home Theater PC 3 months ago. So I bought: the latest version of PowerDVD (Ultra v14 latest patch level), a brand new PC (special configuration for HTPC), brand new Windows 8.1, brand new LG Blu Ray player (latest firmware), commercial Blu Ray discs. The result: randomly PoverDVD don't recognize the Blue Ray discs (commercial discs) and randomly add a "helicopter" noise sound over movies. Frustrating experience from the best rated commercial player - PowerDVD! After 2 months of investigations I solved the problem by uninstalling PowerDVD and start using PotPlayer. Blu Ray discs are all recognized and no more "helicopter" sound over movies.

  Do not buy this software. It is a pain in the ass. Do not install it if it came with your off the shelf OD, you will regret it.

  iT IS A SERIOUS MESS WHEN IT STARTS INTERFERING WITH THE PROGRAMS I HAVE CHOSEN TO PLAY VISEO ETC. I DON'T EVEN KNOW HOW IT GOT ONTO MY COMPUTER BUT IT MESSES UP THE WORKS WHEN I AM TRYING TO PLAY VIDEO ON MY COMPUTER ON MY hdtv USING fIRE tv STICK AND THE pLEX APP. iT GRABS FILES ALREADY ASSIGNED TO OTHER PROGRAMS AND STARTS TO OPEN THEM AND BRINGS THE ENTIRE COMPUTER TO A HALT. I've REALLY SEARCHED BUT CANNOT FIND ANY OPTIONS TO TELL THIS TO SIT STILL AND ALLOW THE CORRECT PROGRAM TO FUNCTION. if I DO NOT FIND ANY VALUE IN IT SOON I AM JUST GOING TO UNINSTALL IT AND SAY GOOD RIDDANCE. if ANYTHING IT MAY BE SPY WARE OR JUNK WARE BUT IT CERTAINLY IS USELESS TO ME.

  A bit pricey but you get what you pay for. Forget the free stuff. It's a big waste of time.

  Summary

  Tried numerous Open Source (free) players and not one would sync closed captions properly. Some even would pause during playback and get the audio out of sync. I'm lookin' at you, VLC, which has both problems. Power DVD just plays your DVD the way it's meant to be with no need to fool with sync settings or other details you shouldn't have to deal with. Very easy to use and intuitive with a great interface.
