• Awesome but volnerable

  Malware often detects it running and scrolls the window down so that you cannot see processes using most CPU time. In other words, when displaying processes in order of CPU use, - many malware types now detect the program running an nudge the window down so that the processes using the most CPU time (the malware) is not visible. A scroll lock needs to be made into the program as an option so that malware cannot change the view to hide the most active process.

  Summary

  I have several analytical utilities, but Process Explorer is the first one I go to when I'm wondering just what's going on. I used it this morning to find and delete an EXE I'd accidentally run from an e-mail attachment. I'm running 16.04, and Process Explorer does not instantly crash under W7P64.

  Can be installed as a replacement for "Windows Task Manager", is a free tool and many others "PROS".

  Used to be a Good Program.

  Cons

  Version 16.0 crashes immediately on Windows 7 64-bit. Had to Revert to Version 15.40.

  Pros

  It gives you a lot of information that you only get parts of with other apps. It lets you see all of the services running and lets you shut most of them off to see which one is causing the problem.

  Good process tree views or section views excellent for supplementing task manager displays much more information you do not have to replace Task Manager You can have the both and just use whichever one you choose at any given time . I have a shortcut to process explorer and task manager both on my desktop and can use either one at will

  Very useful for managing processes /resources /applications /start up /hardware resources etc . absolutely a must have for the power user .

  Pros

  lots of dull colored lines and organization and info and stuff.

  Cons

  taskmanager is G-O-N-E that means no more CTRL/ALT/DEL to kill a malfunctioning program; no more quick look at the processes, no cute little graphs of processors... And task manager is g-o-n-e if you doubleclick it it reports as MISSING!

  I must be missing something here - oh yes, TASKMANAGER!

  Everything is Pros and there are no Cons. Replaces and greatly enhances the information provided by Task Manager (and much more). Simple and lightweight, just set it as a Startup item.

  Pros

  Does what it should. One of the most useful features is that it shows you where the autostart location is for a process. That can help you debug a problem more easily.

  Can be a bit daunting for a first time user.
