Test, manage and design primers for PCR.The main purpose of AmplifX is to seek in a collection of primers, such as any molecular biologist get in his refrigerators, those which can be use to amplify a fragment into a target sequence, for example, and particularly, to design strategies to screen recombinant clones by PCR. Some informations are associated with each primer, some automatically computed by AmplifX (like TM, Quality, lengh) and other given by the user (name, comments,...) This allows general aspects of primer management (sequences and real tubes). AmplifX can also design new primers.

Great way to intuitively check your primers

Summary
This review was originally posted on VersionTracker.com.<br />This little app comes in handy if you want to start a PCR on a new sequence. After entering your sequence and loading (or entering) the primers you consider useful, you will get a graphic overview of the resulting PCR products, along with Tm values for your primers from all 3 major calculation methods, probable primer-dimer formations, scores, ...
While still in an early stage, this app has the potential to become an invaluable tool in molecular biology. Has a slim interface, no clutter, and if you know what Polymerase Chain Reaction is about, you understand AmplifX within minutes.
