  The interface is very complicated. Still I liked GIMP. I managed to open my .psd files and edit them a bit. I was pleased that I could use the same tools as in Photoshop for free. So I think it's a great option for people who dont want to give insane money for PS.

• What a horrible Interface

  Even if you are very well versed with using Photoshop as I am, Gimp has a horrible user interface, even when doing the most basic of image editing. Some have mentioned 'Cropping' (which is the worst I've ever seen) along with other issues. Thank goodness it's a free program, otherwise I'd be pissed. I have Photoshop / Illustrator / amongst other Adobe programs, figured Gimp would be a good temporary substitute at work but I was very wrong. Sadly the problem with an "open source" software is that there is NO accountability.

• Crashes almost instantly - removed from machine

  I hit the + key to zoom in, after 5-6 +'s it crashed. Still happened after restarting 3 times. Tried to access "help" (from within program), it crashed again. That was it, bye bye

  When I get stuck in an area, their Help is user friendly.
